Chief Executive Officer
Jim is a 25-year veteran of the energy industry, having held senior leadership positions at integrated oil and gas majors Conoco and BP, as well as privately held start-ups. As the former Chief Operating Officer at Energy Water Solutions and Sector Leader for both Water and Midstream at ERM, Jim is recognized as an industry expert in the use of water infrastructure to reduce cost, manage risk and improve long term profitability.
Jim started his career in 1990 as an engineer with Conoco Natural Gas and Gas Products living in West Texas. After successfully completing Conoco’s Management Development Program, Jim progressed through a number engineering, project management and commercial roles before moving into North American Gas and Power to help Conoco develop opportunities related to the emerging de-regulation of power.
Jim joined BP in 2001 to lead their Western Power Structuring and Origination business, where he quickly developed a reputation as a visionary and strong leader within the organization. Within 18 months he was placed on BP’s High Potential Program and promoted to Vice President of Integrated Supply and Trading for BP’s North American NGL business, one of the largest such operations in the world. As a member of the Executive Leadership team for both Global Supply and Trading as well as the NGL Business Unit, Jim had direct influence over $2 billion in annual gross margin.
In 2006, Jim joined Element Markets, a start-up focused on the development of wind, solar and biogas projects, where he served as the President of Element Markets Biogas, LLC. In 2011, Jim joined his second start-up venture, Energy Water Solutions, as the Chief Operating Officer. In his role as COO, Jim was responsible for the design, integration and operation of new water treatment technologies within the oil and gas industry.
Just prior to joining H2O Midstream, Jim spent 18 months as a Partner with Environmental Resources Management, a global sustainability consulting firm, leading both their Integrated Water Management and Midstream sectors for the Southern Division. In this role, Jim became a respected subject matter expert in the area of strategic water management and had the opportunity to work with producers throughout North America to identify critical risks and develop long term solutions to complex operational challenges.
A former collegiate debater, Jim is a sought after speaker and serves on several non-profit boards in the Houston area. Jim holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma and currently lives in Katy, TX with his wife of 21 years and 3 daughters.
Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President, Business Development
Darrell is a seasoned executive with more than 28 years of engineering, operations and business development experience in the midstream space, especially in natural gas and crude gathering and processing, liquids pipelines, natural gas liquids and petrochemicals. He most recently served as the Vice President of Business Development at Crestwood Midstream LP, where he was a leader in gathering and processing for the Delaware (Permian), Marcellus/Utica and Niobrara Basins.
Prior to Crestwood, Darrell spent 17 years at The Williams Companies and Mid America Pipeline Company (MAPCO) in various engineering, business development and leadership roles, spearheading the development of their strategy in the Marcellus. He served as the company’s first General Manager for Ohio Valley Midstream and was responsible for operations and P&L for this $2Billion business unit. Darrell began the first eight years of his career as an engineer at Mobil.
Throughout his career, Darrell has been active in volunteer recruiting on college campuses and served as the Scholarship Chairman for the Midcontinent GPA Chapter. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Midstream Business Magazine. Darrell holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
Executive Vice President, Permian Business Unit
Stephen has held a variety of leadership positions throughout his 31 year oil and gas career primarily in the midstream sector in operations, engineering, construction, and commercial roles. He most recently served as the President of Pioneer Water Management, LLC, where he led the development, design and construction of a pipeline and storage system supporting Pioneer’s extensive water management business. In this role, he was tasked with serving all Pioneer’s water requirements in the Midland Basin, including supply, transportation, storage, re-use, and disposal of up to 2 million barrels of water per day.
Stephen spent his early years (1986–2000) with Conoco and Phillips developing his midstream expertise while progressing in engineering, project management, commercial, business development, and operations management positions throughout Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Colorado.
Subsequently, Stephen worked in various Management and Officer positions with Duke Energy, TEPPCO, Crosstex and Pioneer Natural Resources. Prior to leading Pioneer’s water management business, Stephen held key leadership roles in Duke Energy’s Jonah/Pinedale midstream operations in Wyoming, and Pioneer’s EFS Midstream build-out in the Eagle Ford.
Stephen serves as a member of Texas A&M’s TEES Advisory Board and the Gas Processors Association. He is a former member of COGA and NMOGA. Stephen holds an MBA from Oklahoma City University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Executive Vice President, Technical Services
David has more than 36 years of experience in midstream operations and business development. Prior to joining H2O Midstream in 2016, David was Vice President of Operations and Engineering for Southcross Energy where he was responsible for all plant and pipeline engineering and operations.
Prior to Southcross, David had a similar position for AB Resources where he was responsible for plant and pipeline engineering, construction and operations. He also was Vice President of Engineering for Quicksilver Gas Services where he had similar responsibilities. David worked for Warren Petroleum and successor companies Dynegy Midstream Services and Targa Resources from 1980-2007 in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. He held various gas supply and midstream management and engineering positions during his tenure at these companies, most recently serving as Director of Business Development and Gas Supply for Targa.
David is a former Chairman, Vice Chairman and board member of the North Texas Gas Processors Association and a former board member of the Texas Pipeline Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Gauri Potdar, CFA
Vice President of Strategy and Analytics
Gauri Potdar has 13 years of experience in the energy and commodity markets, having served in business development, strategy, financial structuring, research and trading analytics roles during her career. Gauri most recently helped manage global exchange relationships and intellectual property licensing at S&P Global Platts in her role as the Director of Strategic Alliances.
Prior to Platts, Gauri served in a business development and commercial role at Enbase, an oilfield software services provider. From 2006-2013, Gauri worked at Element Markets in roles of increasing responsibility, serving as a Vice President of Business Development in her final two years with the company, where she helped to build the biogas business and develop their strategy to participate in the renewable fuels markets. Gauri began her career as a Business Analyst at Deloitte Consulting.
Gauri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Economics from Southern Methodist University, a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and is a CFA Charterholder.
